Suely is a 1.5 generation refugee from Los Angeles and the first Khmer American Executive Director of KGA since its founding. She has worked in organizing and policy on a wide range of issues that includes worker’s rights, economic justice, immigrant and refugee rights, and reproductive justice. She is the co-founder and the chief executive officer (CEO) of a social enterprise in Cambodia called Woman for Woman, who produces fair trade silk products. It provides micro lending and creates educational and economic opportunities for girls and women to support their families in order to become self-sufficient and independent. Suely holds a B.A in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from UC Santa Cruz and is currently pursuing her Masters in Public Administration at CSU Long Beach. My dream for the Khmer community is to have a collective voice and link arms with other communities to build power and achieve social, economic and political justice together.
