We all deserve to be well!
Khmer Girls In Action will host a week-long event across Poly, Wilson, Cabrillo and Jordan High Schools to educate, excite and engage our community in being healthy and well! Wellness Week is an opportunity to connect students to information, resources and skills to support their physical, emotional, and mental health. Throughout the week there will be after-school workshops, lunch-time rallies, a self-love selfie contest and a health fair.
February is National School-Based Health Care Awareness Month, and KGA’s Wellness Week is part of the Youth at the CORE Campaign to establish wellness centers at Long Beach high schools. When a student’s physical, mental, and emotional health needs are met, it makes it easier to attend school, focus in the classroom and succeed academically. School-based wellness centers provide preventative care, health education, support services and connect students to resources so that they can be healthy and thrive!
Wellness Week takes place Tuesday, February 18 – Friday, February 21, 2014
