Lynette Lanh is a 2nd generation Cambodian American born and raised in Long Beach, California. She joined KGA as an intern and then continued her organizing with KGA afterwards.
Growing up, Lynette experienced a lot of social and economical injustices and struggled with self-identity relating to her ethnic background. After graduating high school, she went on to pursue her college education at Long Beach City College and transferred to California State University of Long Beach with a Bachelors of Arts in Asian & Asian American studies.
In college, Lynette learned about the many social injustices that Asian Americans experienced and all of the empowering movements they have created. While interning at KGA, she learned more about how KGA came to be and how much of an impact they have made. Through these experiences, it inspired her to continue working with KGA and engage with the community.
