Leilani is a second generation Cambodian-Filipino American, born and raised in Riverside County, California. She acquired her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of California, Berkeley with a major in Social Welfare and minor in Asian American & Asian Diaspora Studies.
During her time in Alameda County as an undergraduate, Leilani developed a deep commitment to advocacy and community leadership which included reviving the only Cambodian club on campus, Berkeley Cambodian Student Association. She also served as a member and mentor with Asian Health Services’ Banteay Srei program and participated in various Oakland-based advocacy organizations supporting AANHPI communities including AAPI FORCE-EF and the California Healthy Nail Salon Collaborative.
Leilani is passionate about working with grassroots organizations and community partners to foster intergenerational learning spaces and uplift the next generation of Southeast Asian leaders through culture, political education, and community empowerment.
