WHO
For 29 years Khmer Girls in Action has invested in the leadership of Southeast Asian women and youth through political education, and culturally relevant leadership programs. KGA’s mission is to build a progressive and sustainable Long Beach community that works for gender, racial and economic justice led by Southeast Asian young women.
WHY
As part of a statewide series of Party to the Polls events, KGA and We Are California are creating welcoming spaces where community members can access voter information, connect with trusted local resources, and feel safe when getting out to vote.
At a time when some Californians may feel fearful, unsafe, or uncertain about voting, Party to the Polls: Haunted Mansion offers an opportunity for Long Beach residents to learn about issues that affect their lives such as education, health care, jobs, and local investments while celebrating with community.
Through the youth-led haunted maze, attendees will be invited to explore how ballot measures and public decisions can shape families, neighborhoods, schools, and the future of California. KGA encourages voters to vote joyfully, safely, and alongside their community. Admission is free, and all youth, families, friends, and neighbors are welcome!
